Women's Strength Training
With Julia Smorodina
Build strength and mobility from the inside out, starting with your breath, pelvic floor and core.
What to expect:
- Breath, pelvic floor and core connection first
- Graded strength and mobility to protect muscle and bone
- Small group, for women, by women
- Through a combination of bodyweight exercises (calisthenics) and weight training, we work on the floor and progress through movements that challenge your strength, coordination, and balance. Each exercise is designed to help you move with greater confidence, develop functional strength, and support your body through the different stages of life.
Any life stage
Postpartum Strength
With Julia Smorodina
Rebuild your core, posture and pelvic floor after birth, whether you’re newly postpartum or years in.
What to expect:
- Safe, progressive strength work that builds week to week
- Core rehab, including diastasis recti and post-cesarean recovery
- Ends with a calming relaxation practice.
Generic gym and yoga classes rarely account for pregnancy, birth or menopause. Our classes are run inside a pelvic health clinic and designed around how women’s bodies actually change, with a focus on:
Run inside a pelvic health clinic
Classes designed around pregnancy, birth and menopause, not a generic gym.
Pelvic floor & core first
Every class starts from breath and core connection, then builds.
Graded, never gruelling
Progress at a pace that respects your recovery and energy.

What postpartum classes are available in Toronto at Bravella Health?
Bravella Health Toronto, a Vital Physiotherapy clinic at 734 St. Clair Avenue West, runs three classes every Thursday: Women’s Strength Training at 10 am and Postpartum Strength at 11 am with Julia Smorodina, and Postnatal Yoga at 2 pm with Kimberly Landreville, RMT. Babies are welcome in both postpartum classes.
How soon after giving birth can I join a postpartum class?
You can join Postpartum Strength or Postnatal Yoga once you’re at least 6 weeks postpartum or have been cleared by a healthcare practitioner, including after a cesarean birth. If you have leaking, pelvic heaviness, pain or abdominal separation, book a pelvic health physiotherapy assessment at Bravella Health Toronto first, so the class can be adapted to you.
Can I bring my baby?
Yes. Babies are always welcome in Postpartum Strength and Postnatal Yoga at Bravella Health Toronto, so you don’t need a sitter. Feeding, changing and crying are all part of it.
Do I need experience?
No. All three classes are beginner-friendly. The strength classes start with breath, pelvic floor and core connection and build gradually week to week, and the postnatal yoga flows are adjustable for every postpartum body.
How much do the classes cost?
Postpartum Strength and Women’s Strength are $30 + HST per drop-in class, with packages coming soon. Postnatal Yoga is $184 + HST for an 8-week series (in person or virtual, with recordings) or $28 + HST per drop-in class. Private 45-minute training with Julia is $75.
Are the classes covered by insurance?
Coverage depends on your extended health plan, so ask us before you book and we’ll help you check. OHIP doesn’t cover group exercise classes.
Where are the classes held?
Classes are in person at Bravella Health Toronto, a Vital Physiotherapy clinic, at 734 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto, ON M6C 1B3, on the 512 St. Clair streetcar line. Postpartum Strength and Postnatal Yoga can also be joined on Zoom.
Do i need to bring in a mat ?
You’re welcome to bring your own mat, but we also have mats available at the clinic for you to use.
