The Vital team is truly the BEST!!! I highly recommend Vital to every pregnant woman!!! I started pelvic floor physio during my second trimester to prepare for birth and optimize my pelvic floor. My physio, Natasha, helped me modify my regular workouts so I could continue exercising safely and confidently throughout pregnancy. Being able to stay active was so important for my confidence and mental health, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support and reassurance I got. During the last few weeks of my pregnancy, I also saw Yse for acupuncture. I had been struggling with debilitating SI joint pain that was making it difficult to walk and function, and after seeing her, I finally had relief and was able to exist comfortably again. I also did an acupuncture induction session with her and that very evening, I went into labour!!!! The birth prep session was another highlight. It was incredibly informative and helpful for both me and my husband. My physio walked us through different scenarios, positions, breathing techniques, and demonstrations so that I felt genuinely prepared going into labour. She helped me understand and visualize my pelvic floor in a way that allowed me to connect with my body, my breath, and what I needed to do during birth. And all that preparation paid off: I pushed out my almost 9 lb baby in TWO contractions with no tearing!! I’m now three weeks postpartum and feeling great physically! I truly attribute so much of my recovery to all of the work I did with pelvic floor physio before giving birth. I will absolutely be coming back to Vital once I’m cleared to return to exercise so I can continue optimizing and strengthening my pelvic floor postpartum. I’m so grateful to the entire Vital team for supporting me throughout my pregnancy, helping me stay active, preparing me for birth, and setting me up for such a positive postpartum recovery. ❤️Posted on Google![]()

Common Questions
Everything you need to know.
What is Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy?
Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a type of physical therapy that focuses on the muscles and tissues of the pelvis. It can treat problems with incontinence, sexual function, and pain in the pelvic area, and help improve strength and coordination of the pelvic floor muscles.
Is the treatment of the pelvic floor covered under my health insurance plan?
Some plans cover treatment for the pelvic floor, while others do not. If you’re unsure, it’s best to contact your insurance provider directly to inquire about coverage for this type of treatment.
Can Pelvic floor physiotherapy help with urinary incontinence?
Yes. Incontinence can be caused by factors including pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, and obesity. Pelvic floor physiotherapy can help strengthen the pelvic floor, improving incontinence and decreasing the risk of it developing in the future.
How long does pelvic floor rehabilitation take?
Pelvic floor rehabilitation can take several weeks to months, depending on the severity of the condition. The time required will also depend on the individual’s response to treatment.
Do I need a doctor's referral to see a pelvic floor physiotherapist?
No, a referral is not required.
Can you help with chronic pelvic pain?
Physiotherapy is an effective treatment for chronic pelvic pain. It can help reduce pain and improve function and quality of life, and can treat a wide range of conditions that cause it.
What is pelvic organ prolapse, and can a Vital physiotherapist help?
Pelvic organ prolapse is when one or more pelvic organs fall or slip out of place as supporting muscles and tissues weaken over time. It’s common, especially after menopause, and several treatment options are available if it’s causing problems.
Isn't pelvic physio just Kegels?
No. Kegels are one helpful exercise, but pelvic physiotherapy can also involve manual therapy and electrical stimulation to relax and strengthen the muscles — it’s a broader toolkit than Kegels alone.
